About the CYPS - Children's Social Care Services in North Yorkshire

Children's Social Care Services

North Yorkshire County Council has been rated by the Audit Commission again and our current rating is as a 4 star authority - the highest rank attained by only one third of authorities - and improving well.

Within Children's Social Care at North Yorkshire County Council we believe that all we do should reflect our strong values about social work. We believe passionately in putting children and their families first, promoting participation, working in partnership and having a strong emphasis on prevention.

These values are reflected in the fact that we have succeeded in gaining a substantial investment to develop our services in the areas of safeguarding and assessment and fostering. The service actively delivers innovative practice, for example, solution focused approaches, family group conferencing and restorative practice models. This presents you with a great opportunity to be part of a social care service for children with strong focus and sense of where it is going. It is also a supportive service, where you will find like minded professionals and a supportive management and supervisory structure.
