Learning and Development Services offer support to all County Council staff and elected members with their training and development needs to improve performance and develop careers within the council. They provide courses, access to e learning packages, NVQs and self directed learning materials.

Learning opportunities include supervisory and management training, leadership development, appraisal training, recruitment and selection, IT skills, customer care, report writing, health and safety and many more.

The majority of staff are employed in accordance with the NJC for Local Government Services, as adopted by the North Yorkshire County Council and set out in the Local Scheme of Conditions of Service.
